Happy Thanksgiving
Good morning Jax Prayer Club family and friends. One thing that always catches my attention till this day, is the fact that here in the US there is day dedicated to give thanks, since in Haiti we do not have a day for Thanksgiving per se, rather a combined Memorial & Thanksgiving on January 2 when we commemorate all those who fought for our freedom and are grateful to God for the free nation. I found it fascinated that the US which portray "time is money", actually finds time to pause and be grateful for people around them, successes accomplished and things in their possession. Today's Gospel reading is about the 10 lepers Jesus healed with only 1 Samaritan coming back to thank Him. Let us be honest, do we not find ourselves resembling the 9 others? We are so caught into the business of life, the goals to achieve, expectations to meet, success to accomplish, that we forget to come back and thank God. Today is the day to be the 1 Samaritan. Take time while gathering with family and friends to thank Him and all those around you.
Let us also have a special thought for all those who are mourning and grieving this time of the year. There is a time for everything, and while some people are in the time of rejoicing, others are in the time of suffering whether physical, mental, emotional, familial, financial, or social.
Whichever time we are in, May God bless you with abundance love, mercy and the desires of your heart.
Happy Thanksgiving to you all. I leave you with one of my favorite "Thank you" songs.
