Magnificat Maison

"My soul proclaims the greatness of the Lord; my spirit rejoices in God my savior." Luke 1:46-47

Abraham did not receive all the details of his journey with the Lord when he was called to move to a new place. The same is often true for us. When God calls us, although we may feel uncertain about where He is leading us, in time He will reveal more details of His plan.

In prayer on October 22, 2020, the Lord showed me a small village where people were handwashing their clothing, cooking outdoors, and transporting items on their heads. When I asked the Lord who these people were, He responded, "This is your community. Serve them" Unsure of His meaning, I recorded everything in my journal, noting that this reminded me of a small Haitian village.

Having forgotten my previous encounter, the Lord, at 3 a.m. on August 19, 2024, gently said “Soup Kitchen” to me and showed me the house I needed to purchase.

Through prayer, conversations, support and spiritual guidance from my family. I acquired the house to open a soup kitchen, clothing bank, and prayer room. I am continually reminded of my conversation with the Lord in 2020. He has provided the guidance and grace which comprise the cornerstone of this project.

After Mary gave her fiat to be the mother of Jesus, she visited her cousin, Elisabeth, and praised the Lord. Her soul proclaimed His goodness in the Magnificat. My heart also praises God for choosing me and my soul magnifies the Lord! Therefore, I have named the house "Magnificat Maison" meaning "House of Praise". I want to continually sing for the Lord by serving others. I will bless the LORD at all times; his praise shall be always in my mouth (Psalm 34:2).

As I often say, I do not know where the Lord is leading me, but I am ready to follow Him as long as He journeys with me through it all.
