The gift of water

Thank you so much my sister for this beautiful reflection. Some do not think of water being a gift since it is available "everywhere". However in third-world countries like Haiti where I am from, water is a luxury, that even money can't buy because it is scarce and sometimes polluted. I know how it feels to measure water so it can last until the next time we find some. But this was not God's original plan. When He created us and gave us the earth to inhabit and prosper, He didn't say let some people benefit from what the earth has to offer, while others lack of it. We did this to the world and to ourselves by constantly battling against and oppressing each other instead of loving one another and sharing. Any geography class one takes will say the earth is 2/3 or 3/4 of water. So why is it so rare in certain parts?

Let us be thankful every time we pour ourselves a glass of water, turn on the faucet to clean water, take a shower, do the laundry, water or plants and so on. Where there is water, there is life. And even today with science discovering other planets the 1st element they look for is trace of water which signifies life as we know it. We also are called to bring water to others both literally and metaphorically.

Let us be good stewards of this gift, be mindful of those who don't have it, and share it whenver we encounter someone who thirst for it.
