Setting the captive free
What a great reflection! Many times we have fear crossing our minds and paralyzing us without us noticing. Just by looking around there are a lot to be fearful of: pandemic, wars, climate change with natural disasters, unemployment, social economic conflicts, family issues, the list goes on. With all this going on, we might be fearful to get out of bed or leave our front doors. But today's reflection is reassuring, The people of Israel went through the same fear cycle as we did. First they had to leave a country where they were enslaved for centuries to head across the desert to an unknown place; at the same time the Egyptians were after them to kill them; they had to face the Red Sea and not knowing what to do. They were hungry, sleeping under tents, moving from one place to another; they fear for their lives, and the lives of their families. The only thing that kept them hopeful to move on each day was the Word of God.
Do we not trust the same Word? the Word of God goes beyond time and space and the same way He freed the captives back then, He can still do today. So let's not allow fear to take control of us. We are people of Easter and Hallelujah is our Song!
