Focus Friday August 27
Give thanks to the Lord for He is good. His steadfast love endures forever.
What am I thankful for? I'm thankful to God for always allowing me to go to sleep every night and wake up every morning. I'm thankful for Him always being by my side in good and bad times whether I sense it or not. Like right now we are witnessing war, destruction, natural disasters worldwide. Like you Rose I worry for my relatives in the South of Haiti following the earthquake. I worry for my relatives in Port-au-Prince and for my fellow Haitians en general who are facing social and political unrest. I worry for wars happening here and there.
Today from The Bible in a year podcast by Fr Mike I learned in the book of Daniel about the 3 young men thrown in the furnace instead of perishing under the flames were praising and exalting God. They were still in the fire, but they were praising. Bu doing so God came to their rescue and they got out of the furnace without any trace of burnt. Therefore we must learn to always be thankful, grateful, and praising God in all circumstances. He has the last word. Hang in there.
